Naz bought his first hair clippers and began cutting hair in the 7th grade so that he and his older cousin visiting from Mexico could cut eachother's hair.

The clippers stayed with Naz and from there he continued cutting hair for his friends in high school. After high school, Naz took his skills with him when he joined the United States Marine Corps. It was there that Naz found himself shaving and cutting hair in the squad bay during combat training for his friends in MOS school, and eventually while deployed in Iraq.

After he finished serving in the Marines, Naz began working in barbershops, cutting hair for private clients and instructing classes for Paul MItchell Cosmetology School. Opened in 2019, The Barber Effect is the culmination of Naz's journey, making it a unique experience you won't find anywhere else.
